Everybody wants their young ones to be brought up with a good education in order to set them up with not only a decent career, but also to give them a solid understanding of the planet . And there appears to be this ageless battle of taking your youngsters from their playthings or the television in order to get them to get on with their homework. In schoolhouses it would seem that the playfulness is withdrawn from studying, so no wonder kids spend their time daydreaming in school. There is a solution however! Rather than this false dichotomy of playing and studying, it’s far more effective to merge playing and studying and make studying fun again.
Youngsters learn much more when studying is simply good fun, OR if they determine a practical purpose as to why they’re learning a particular lesson. The former is often a lot easier than the latter.
An example: give the children 26 cubes, corresponding to 26 letters from the alphabet. Now ask them to build a column from the building blocks that spells out a particular word. So they’re enjoying themselves and attempting to make building block columns not flop over while learning to spell.
These days, it’s now widely accepted that once you develop the groundwork for a particular subject (for example English), youngsters are more likely to become interested in it later on in life. If the alternative is to just force them to go to a class, face them toward a chalkboard, and tell them to take heed of the instructor talking, you’re more likely to encourage daydreaming than learning.
In terms of toys, what to get the children? These days there’s a huge range of toys. Always remember that youngsters have fun playing with practically anything, even a cardboard box! From educational wooden toys to hand-held electronic games, so long as the emphasis is on studying and helping your kids to become more inquisitive (which advances self-learning).
